Meet the Peek-a-Hide: a clean, modern reptile hide that lets you discreetly monitor your animal while they rest inside.

Designed as a simple rectangular hide with a front entrance, the Peek-a-Hide looks minimal and enclosure-friendly from the outside. Hidden within casing along the outside of the hide is an integrated Raspberry Pi–powered camera system that allows you to view inside the hide without disturbing your reptile.

  A Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W paired with a wide-angle night-vision camera enables real-time monitoring inside the hide, even in complete darkness.

  The hide interior remains open only at the bottom and front entrance.
  Electronics are mounted externally on the back and right side of the hide inside a ventilated protective casing.

  The Raspberry Pi and wide-angle night-vision camera sit in a vented enclosure with a top ventilation slot to allow heat to escape safely.

  No exposed electronics inside the resting chamber. The camera lens is positioned to monitor without obstructing your reptile's movement.
• 🛡 Protected Camera Window
  A clear 1/32" polycarbonate (Lexan) panel sits on a recessed internal ledge directly in front of the camera aperture. Your reptile cannot reach or contact the lens. The panel is impact-resistant, humidity-tolerant, and optically clear.
• 💾 Pre-Configured System
  
  Includes a 16GB microSD card preloaded with AuDHDly Reptile Studio's proprietary firmware. The firmware is fully custom-built (not off-the-shelf software) and represents many months of in-house design, development, and real-world testing on Pi hardware inside actual reptile enclosure conditions. It handles Wi-Fi onboarding, live night vision streaming, hardware diagnostics, and over-the-air updates so the device works reliably out of the box.

  Every device comes with its own private web portal, accessible from any phone, tablet, or computer on your home network (no app to install, no account to create). The dashboard is a fully custom interface, proprietary to AuDHDly Reptile Studio, designed and refined over many months of development and testing to make a Raspberry Pi feel like a polished consumer product. From the portal, you can:

  • Watch the live night vision stream
  • Connect or switch your Wi-Fi network
  • Run hardware diagnostics (camera, CPU temperature, network, storage)
  • Install over-the-air software updates as we release new features

📝 Tip:
If your reptile is near the upper limit of a size range, consider sizing up for comfort.

💡 How It Works

1. Position the external electronics housing on the back and side of the hide
2. Connect the micro USB cable to the Raspberry Pi
3. Follow the included instructions to connect to your WiFi network
4. Place the Peek-a-Hide inside your enclosure like a standard hide
5. Route the power cable out of the enclosure to a power source
6. View inside your hide from your local network

This device connects over your home network. It does not require cloud accounts or subscriptions.

🌡 Designed for Reptile Enclosures

Typical reptile enclosures operate between:

• 60–80% humidity
• 88–92°F warm zones

To increase durability in these conditions:

• Electronic surfaces are treated with silicone conformal coating for flexible, moisture- and heat-resistant corrosion protection
• A low-profile heatsink is installed on the CPU
• The electronics housing is vented to allow passive airflow
• Camera lens is protected behind a recessed polycarbonate window
• Unused micro-USB and mini-HDMI ports are plugged with fitted port covers to block moisture and debris

Even with these protections, electronics operating in elevated humidity environments may experience reduced lifespan compared to dry indoor conditions.

🌐 Network Setup Responsibility

This device connects to your home WiFi network.

⚠️ This device only supports 2.4 GHz WiFi. It will not connect to 5 GHz networks. Before purchasing, confirm that your router broadcasts a 2.4 GHz network — either a dedicated 2.4 GHz SSID, or a dual-band network that automatically routes devices to 2.4 GHz.

You are responsible for:

• Confirming your network is 2.4 GHz compatible before purchase
• Configuring your router
• Entering WiFi credentials
• Managing firewall or port settings if applicable
• Ensuring your internet connection supports video streaming

Because routers and ISP configurations vary widely, we cannot provide router-specific technical support.

• Physical damage after delivery
• Corrosion caused by excessive humidity or enclosure conditions outside normal ranges

Warranty period: 30 days from the delivery date.

⚠️ Important Note for Extra-Large Size

Because of its overall dimensions, the extra-large size is printed in multiple sections and professionally assembled.

The sections are reinforced along the seam using plastic welding for added strength and durability.

• Structurally solid and fully functional
• Seam is visible but color-matched to blend with the piece
• Strength and safety are not affected

The seam is a normal part of producing larger prints and does not impact performance. We believe in full transparency, so you know exactly what to expect.

This item is individually 3D printed, making each hide truly one of a kind! While we work hard to produce clean, high-quality prints, minor surface variations such as faint lines or tiny bumps are a normal part of the 3D printing process.
